About Us

We are an independent voice run by naval journalists with contributors and supporters which include ex-forces personnel and academics. We have no direct links with the Ministry of Defence or formal endorsement by the Royal Navy, neither are we aligned to any political organisation.

This site was originally established in 2007 as Save The Royal Navy and in January 2021 we re-branded as Navy Lookout with a simpler focus on Royal Navy news and analysis. In March 2022 we partnered with Shephard Media to provide a more sustainable advertising-based revenue model to support continued development and expansion.

We strongly welcome contributions from everyone and encourage comments on the articles Whatever your point of view, we welcome friendly and civil debate. (See our comment moderation policy).

We are always looking for new writers to submit articles for this site subject to our editorial guidelines. If you are interested please contact us.
