An update on the development of the Navy Lookout website

Content on Navy Lookout is set to expand as we will provide more general naval news on the website. This will mostly be short-form content covering news stories relating to the Royal Navy and occasionally wider global naval issues.

News articles are their own category and are denoted by the sky blue headlines. The regular in-depth articles and analysis pieces will continue to be published approximately once a week. We may also expand coverage to include occasional articles about the RN’s key partners – the US and Australian navies.

The partnership formed with Shephard Media in 2022 was amicably dissolved in 2023 and Navy Lookout is an independent entity again. We are funded by a mix of paid-for advertising, programmatic advertising and user donations. The platform will remain free to access and the same robust forum for readers to debate and learn about the key issues facing the RN.

We are always looking for writers to contribute to the site but authors will need to be deep experts on naval matters and we do not publish advertorials or paid-for promotional articles on unrelated subjects. (The editorial guidelines are here).
